I’m still here… Animecon 2014

I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, but I didn’t…

With the lack of posts doesn’t mean that my life is boring as hell. It’s like a roller-coaster! On the other hand not so busy that I don’t have time to write a blog. You know what I mean, no? .__.  Okay! I procrastinate writing. I do.not.like.writing. But! I do like to read back how it was, so without posting there is nothing to look back to… Le sigh.

I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog, I should update this blog.

What happened most recently? Cheesecake went to Animecon 2014. It was totally awesome.

There were lot of visitors, more then last year. And so many beautiful cosplays! It was even better than last year. There were also characters from non animeshows or games! Powerpuff girls (wanna draw these girls I saw as grown ups xD, spiderman, wonderwoman, snowwhite and so on.

And there were two concerts: KOTOKO and Origa! Sadly, I wasn’t there, can’t remember why. My memory is hazy about the weekend.

I forgot to make pictures. With credits of the photographers:

People were waiting to get in. Those lines! Glad I could skip those as a dealer. ^^;; Photo taken by Airhawk’s Cosplay

Our stand in the Dealer Room is pretty, but the merchandice could be placed better, and the books need a stand. Our posters need a place of there own, now there are ‘hidden’ in our portfolio’s, and even our A3 posters where still unopened at the back! Aaack! We’ll come up with something for the next convention.

Our stand in the dealer room. In the back we have a banner for our new art book promotion. I got the rack back from Japan. Those where incredible handy. I will post about are stand refinement process, but we need it! 🙂 – Photo taken by Sil Hong

Milou won the Dutch Manga Award with her fancomic from the Legend of Korra “A touch of Air”. It’s about the love triangle of Tenzin, Pamma and Bei Fong. Very nice and sweet. The panelling and the inking are also refressing.

There where three categories: Original, Fancomic and short. Each categories got three works to be nominated. We were nominated twice in the fancomic section!

If you are are interested, there are still books left for only € 3,00 (excl. shipping) 🙂

I did’t drew much for Animecon (some how in a artist slump .__. ), expect for a chibi Lucy keychain, which sells great. My old posters sold as well. Gonna prints some more soon and ofcouse make some new art.

The Dealer Room was a bit camped, like usual. Amazing how such ‘little’ space fits so many vendors. What was missing, but that is my personal opinion as an artist, was a dealer with art supplies, like markers, watercolours, differnts weight of paper, pens and such. More of those special artist thingies…

We were vending in Zone H, on the opposite of Zone G, which the traffic was okay.

Very noticebly is that people didn’t whore big cosplay/dresses. Those are very cool on photo’s, but not so cool in the Dealer room. Blocking the way and such.

And this is the end of my chaotic rant. See you next time! ^__^/
